Folder Helm
Folder Helm organizes files locally on your Mac. Emotive Studios does not receive file contents, folder names, rules, or processing history.
Scope
This policy explains how Emotive Studios LLC ("Emotive Studios," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use Folder Helm. It applies only to this product. Any third-party service identified in this policy has its own privacy practices.
Folder access and local information
Folder Helm accesses only folders and files you authorize through macOS or provide to a requested file-processing action. It stores security-scoped bookmarks, folder paths, automation rules, preferences, rule revisions, safety-review state, and execution history in local app storage so authorized workflows can run later.
File names, metadata, contents, rules, and processing history are not sent to Emotive Studios. The app does not use CloudKit, advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.
File processing
Rules may inspect file attributes and metadata and may rename, move, copy, trash, convert, resize, sanitize, combine, split, or otherwise process files according to your instructions. These operations take place on your Mac. Portable rule exports omit stored folder-permission bookmarks; you decide where exported rule files are saved or shared.
Data sharing and tracking
Folder Helm does not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or transmit your files to Emotive Studios. A file leaves your Mac only if a destination or separate service you select causes that transfer.
Retention and deletion
Rules, bookmarks, settings, and history remain in the local app database until you delete them or remove the app’s data. Files processed by a rule remain in their resulting locations until you move or delete them. Removing the app does not reverse file operations that have already completed.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we control, and to appeal or complain about how a request is handled. Emotive Studios does not discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right. Most information described as local in this policy is controlled directly through the app and your device; Emotive Studios cannot retrieve data it never receives.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request concerning information held by Emotive Studios, use the contact information below. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the information and services we operate. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Protect your device, operating-system account, exported files, and backups with appropriate access controls.
Children
Folder Helm is not directed to children under 13, and Emotive Studios does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the product. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided information to Emotive Studios may contact us to request review and deletion.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the product, its services, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of the page identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented through the website, the app, or another appropriate notice.
