Harmonic Drive

Scope

This policy explains how Emotive Studios LLC ("Emotive Studios," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use Harmonic Drive. It applies only to this product. Any third-party service identified in this policy has its own privacy practices.

Information handled by the game

Harmonic Drive does not require an Emotive Studios account for offline play. Settings, local progress, custom content, and other offline game data remain on your device unless you choose to move or back up those files.

When you use online features, Harmonic Drive receives Game Center identifiers and profile information made available by Apple, including your Game Center player identifiers and display name. The game also processes authentication material supplied by Apple to verify the Game Center session.

• Leaderboard records, including song, difficulty, game mode, score, accuracy, note judgments, combo and hold statistics, chart version, and completion time.
• Multiplayer information, including matchmaking state, match participation, live score, accuracy, and combo updates.
• Technical records needed to operate and protect the online service, which may include connection information, timestamps, error details, and security logs created by our hosting providers.

How the information is used

Online information is used only to authenticate players, operate matchmaking and multiplayer sessions, maintain leaderboards, validate score submissions, prevent abuse, diagnose service failures, and maintain the security and reliability of the service.

Game Center friends information is used only when you request friend-scoped leaderboard results. Harmonic Drive does not use Game Center information for advertising or user profiling.

Apple services, purchases, and hosting

Game Center and App Store purchases are provided by Apple and are subject to Apple’s privacy policy. Emotive Studios does not receive your payment card information. The game receives only the purchase and entitlement information needed to provide purchased content.

Online game services use Railway and SpacetimeDB infrastructure. These providers process information on our behalf to host the service and may process data in the United States or other locations where they operate. We do not authorize them to use game data for their own advertising.

Public information and sharing

Your Game Center display name and eligible scores may be visible to other players through public or friend leaderboards. Multiplayer opponents may see the player name and live match information necessary to play the match.

We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use third-party advertising SDKs. Information may be disclosed when required by law, to protect the service or its users, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

Retention and deletion

Local game data remains on your device until you delete it through the game, remove the relevant files, or uninstall the game. Online player and leaderboard records are retained while needed to provide leaderboards, preserve competitive history, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. Temporary authentication and live-match state expires after the operational period for which it is needed.

To request access to or deletion of an online Harmonic Drive record, contact us through the support page. We may need information sufficient to locate the record and verify that the request belongs to you. Deleting an Emotive Studios record does not delete information held independently by Apple; Game Center settings must be managed through Apple.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we control, and to appeal or complain about how a request is handled. Emotive Studios does not discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right. Most information described as local in this policy is controlled directly through the app and your device; Emotive Studios cannot retrieve data it never receives.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the information and services we operate. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Protect your device, operating-system account, exported files, and backups with appropriate access controls.

Children

Harmonic Drive is not directed to children under 13, and Emotive Studios does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the product. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided information to Emotive Studios may contact us to request review and deletion.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the product, its services, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of the page identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented through the website, the app, or another appropriate notice.
